The scanner looks like it is failing for some reason. Other people have reported similar error messages using 7.0.1 (but on a Mac build, not a PC) and the scanner failing in a similar way.
Have you tried installing 7.1 which is the current release version (or 7.2 which is beta, but contains some additional bug fixes to 7.1 and which many of us are using without any problems on XP)? -- Siduhe Who am I on 'LAST.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/siduhe)?
