That's the point - iTunes doesn't tell you if there's an error. I ripped everything to lossless with iTunes but I heard faults with some stuff.
So now I use dBpoweramp and rip to ALAC. It really is so easy and quick, and the tagging/artwork is great, it's not an issue to rerip. For me, anyway.
