Guys brilliant, thank you very much, this now seems to be working as I thought it should!
I returned everything to how it was when first ripped the cd's and then using Mp3Tag I removed the BAND Tag and added a COMPILATION=1 Tag. I then used SC to clear and re-scan and there they are, albums under Various Artists, and also under Genre and just on the Album listing, all without screwing up Windows Media Player. Great! MrSinatra & Siduhe you guys have really captured the meaning of help forums for me, and hopefully as I get to grips with my SB3 and SC I an help others from now on. Really impressed!
