So am I right in assuming that if I have a collection of MP3s and
FLACs, I can make a selection of both types and MediaMonkey will
automatically convert the necessary files (i.e. FLACs) to MP3 before
sync'ing with my IPod Touch?

And presumably just pass the MP3s as is? Or will it also down-convert
high bitrate (320kps) MP3s to say 192 for transfer (or whatever
settings I specify)?

I am guessing I will need the GOLD edition of MM to do this? I think it
would be well worth the price however if it meant I didn't need to
maintain a duplicate library of MP3s.
