lossy to lossy transcoding is generally not a good idea. The original data is forever lost in making of the initial mp3 or wma file. transcoding again to yet another lossy format, is going to compound errors.
Heres one link on the topic: http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Transcoding I feel your pain, originally i had only an mp3 player for portable use and i had ripped all my CD's to 160 to 192 vbr mp3's. Then I got a squeezebox :-/ time to rip 1000 CD's again. But now my lossles rips can be transcoded whenever i want to. -- Mnyb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57690 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
