Please note that my comments below all relate only to FLAC tagging. I am not confident that the wiki is up to date on Supported Tags - It seems from other threads in the forum that SC is now supporting a FLAC tag of ALBUMARTIST [no space], and maybe also others [TOTALDISCS ??]
It would be additionally helpful, as relates to some of the FLAC tags, to document the valid values that SC accepts for some of those tags. For example is COMPILATION supposed to be 1 or 0, or some other types of values? If I have a 3-disc set, should I tag with DISC, or DISCNUMBER, or DISCC, or some combination thereof, and what values is SC looking for and work best? And a related question - again, if I have a 3-disc set - if I want SC to show as a single "album", it appears to me that not only must ALBUM field be the same for every track, but also that ARTIST must be the same for every track. Can someone confirm? Example is Crosby/Stills/Nash Box Set, some tracks by CSN, others by CSN&Y, others by Manassas, etc...again, I can't find this addressed anywhere. I'm sure that there are many SC users (like me) that can really only rely on the wiki, and would have no way of knowing if/when/what additional FLAC tags are now supported in SC - if someone could point us to how we could determine that, it would be helpful. Don't want to impose on some of the experts on the forum if this is "research" I could be doing myself, but I don't know where to start. Otherwise, we have to rely on the SC authors to tell us what changes/enhancements they have made - which of course would also be welcome.
