The sound cards fitted to laptops are not usually that good. For my cassettes I used an external USB device from Xitel called an Inport Deluxe. About the size of a matchbox and powered from the PCs USB, it has left/right RCA sockets one end and USB on the other so I just plugged the cassette deck straight into it. I would say the sound quality is probably as good as the original tapes. Don't forget to clean the tape heads after each recording as old cassettes tend to shed their coating. Some of mine were of dubious manufacture (a.k.a. cheap) 40 years ago so this is important. -- Mick Seymour ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mick Seymour's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21137 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=58519 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
