Also try to get an adaptor that outputs from the line level dock output
of your Ipod.  It makes a big difference. Avoid using the headphone
jack if you can.  Monster makes a charger with a jack you can plug a
headphone type connector into if that is what your car takes.  I also
have a dock connector to headphone jack so you can usually find what
you need if you search around a bit.  Amazon has some but you really
got to look for them.  The other nice thing besides better sound
quality is that you don't have to use the volume controls on the ipod
at all and just use your car's stereo for volume control.  A lot less
hassle than trying to balance both.
