What format have they been ripped in? What platform is your server running on?
I don't think it was WMP10, but check that DRM protection isn't enabled, there was a version of WMP that had it enabled by defualt, even for music you ripped yourself. If the tracks were ripped using WMALossless, this needs to be transcoded by the server before streaming. This needs to be done on a Windows PC, not linux or a Mac.
