I have used a recent version of squeezeplay without bit-limiting playing flac files from home in a hotel in different country. It did rebuffer a once or two of times in one song, but if you say your connection can handle it, it should be fine. I had to switch to bitrate limiting (and therefore lame) to listen in an enjoyable way. Must say it worked very well. Even used it as an alarm...
You need to open ports. Also squeezeplay hasn't been agreeable with a password protected server which means you'll need to run without a password while you are listening to music. Not ideal, but if you have a fixed IP you could limit the risk using that. -- lrossouw 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/lrossouw) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ lrossouw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3416 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70469 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
