Hello,

I access my music from work using dyndns and the stream.mp3 offered by
squeezecenter (currently version 7.4.0). It runs very well on my DS-209
NAS with SSODS 4.1.

Unfortunately the proc of my NAS cannot achieve on the fly FLAC to MP3
transcoding (I have to buffer). But my connection would allow me to send
the stream at a higher bitrate. Is there a way to access to the
equivalent of stream.mp3 that would be stream.wav (and would thus avoid
the DS-209 to run lame to encode on the fly) ?

Or is there a way that lame runs more efficiently on my system thanks
to some options that would allow it to transcode on the fly (even with a
small quality loss) ?

Thanks.
