Sorry for the thread necromancy here, but I'm having a very similar
problem and I didn't see any clear resolution on the next step to take.

I have an audiobook, stored as:

book/
cd01/
track01.ogg
track02.ogg
...
cd02/
...

and so forth, for several CDs. The tags I have on each track are:

TITLE
DISCNUMBER
TRACKNUMBER (assigned per-disc, so track #1 on CD #2 is 1 here)
ALBUM (same across all tracks)
AUTHOR (same across all tracks)
ARTIST (same as AUTHOR)
PERFORMER (same across all tracks)
GENRE
DATE

With the above directory structure and the "Treat multi-disc sets as a
single album" option activated, this shows up exactly as desired in the
album browsing interface, as a single album. The tracks show up in the
expected order (CD #1, tracks 1-N, CD #2, tracks 1-N, etc.).

However, I also have a lot of multi-disc trance albums stored in the
following way:

album-name-1/ (the -1 is for disc 1)
track01.ogg
track02.ogg
...
album-name-2/
track01.ogg
track02.ogg
...

With the "Treat multi-disc sets as a single album" option activated,
these do not show up as a single album. The tags on the tracks are:

ARTIST (different for each track)
TITLE
TRACKNUMBER
ALBUM
DATE
DISCNUMBER
TOTALTRACKS

and I can't figure out exactly why the server won't do what I want for
these like it does for the audiobook. I tried adding DISCC tags with no
luck; I also tried adding COMPILATION=0 tags and that didn't help
either.

What do I need to do to make this work? Do I need to tag my trance
albums differently?

Thanks in advance for any help.
