Sturmhardt, I don't quite understand your message. At the beginning of the message, you seems to say is works now but the second part of your message seems to saying it is still not working.
I use Squeezebox Version 3 connected to a Yamaha receiver through optical for multi-channel play back. I want to emphasis that multi-channel FLAC IS NOT equal to FLAC compressed dts stream. multi-channel FLAC contain lossless 5.1 or 7.1 audio stream which no squeezebox could handle. Also, the SPDIF connection does not have enough bandwidth to transfer that signal. HDMI is required to transfer that. dts or AC3 stream are compressed lossy audio with a bit rate of about 1.5Mb/s. This stream could be saved as wav file or compressed flac file. The squeezebox is able to send this stream through the spdif connection to the receiver. This is what I use to listen to multi-channel music. Squeezebox cannot play or decode this file at all. It just sends the stream to the connected receiver to decode and play. Squeezebox in this situation is just acting as a transportation device. -- Honva ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Honva's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14948 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75966 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
