I would still like tag support. I'll have a play when I get home with .ac3 files in Foobar and Id3Tag to see what those apps can do.
Could use .cue sheets to tag the .ac3/.dts files? I don't like .cue files though; painful to set up and manage. A custom tag in .flac would be fine for me, or GENRE=multichannel (or some other well-known configurable string). Would other formats be available as a wrapper, supporting the same custom tag? Is it not possible for the scanner to look at some property of the track content to discover if it is multi-channel, to avoid the need to rely on a tag at all? Nb. If I open a .ac3 or a multi-channel flac in FooBar, the track properties shows the number of channels. Would the files be decoded on the server, or player? Supported by TinySBS? Downmixing to stereo for analog playback would be of great benefit too. Assume this is server-side, thus rather than output both multi-channel and stereo, would have to configure a player to either play direct or downmix. Would this be selectable from the player (eg in Audio settings menu), or via server configuration (and thus harder for TinySBS configuration). -- Philip Meyer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Philip Meyer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=95 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77296 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
