I am using the dual library thing as my I-pod won't hold everything in uncompressed format. I use dbPoweramp to rip everything. It takes care of everything as far as ripping and tagging goes in one go and remembers my settings for each format. It works for me but with a massive collection it would be a pain.
I have read here in the forum that foobar can do on the fly conversion and that can be used in place of a second library for syncing portable devices with a compressed format but I have never used foobar. -- tedfroop "Good judgement is the result of experience ...
