Henry66 - thanks very much for that link. I've taken out a trial membership to check the catalogue - turns out I own the CD/SACDs of pretty much all the ones I'd be interested in, but nonetheless I'll explore the other stuff too. I'm going to email the LSO to suggest they sell hi-res versions of their entire catalogue on their own download site .. Tony Faulkner recorded many of them and it would be great to listen to his masters untouched.
