I don't know how to get LMS (web interface) to display the year, but I do know it reads this tag because I have LMS sort by Artist, Year, Album. In other words if I view albums they are displayed in date order. The only place I can see the year displayed is in iPeng. Attached is a screenshot from my iPad. Is this what you are looking for?
