I rip every CD (for new purchases I do this before even listening for the first time). Unfortunately, I ripped everything to mp3 years ago (about 230,000 tracks). Now I'm on the path to rerip to lossless (FLAC) and have about 70k so far. I use jewelsleeves and cabinets designed for these to store all CDs and booklets/back matter. I can't bring myself to get rid of the CDs, but my hope is that after ripping, I never have to actually see the CD again (unless looking for the booklet for some reason). p.s. with a couple of exceptions, I've never bothered ripping my vinyl.
