Hi all, I made the foolish mistake of activating WMP because I needed to burn a CD. Sadly, it has proceeded to process all my music, include convert all folder.jpg files to its own preferred tiny size. It pulls the image embedded in the file, and then downsizes and creates its various image system files, including folder.jpg, at its preferred tiny size This is for all titles it can work with, which is to say it does not include flac titles. Fortunately most of my recent music is in flac and they are untouched. I had turned off its internet search function (where it finds images to associate with files), so saved myself that hassle.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of downloaded files in mp3 or aac format, and the folder.jpg image in all of these has been changed from my default 500 to 700 pixel square to the 200 pixel square that is the WMP default. I do have a backup of the larger size in a couple of places. However, WMP has rendered the files protected, visible only if system files rendered visible. Making system files visible allows me to delete and replace these versions, but there are restrictions. It seems apps won't overwrite a protected file, even if I could do it manually while looking at the folder. Now that I've turned off WMP again, I'd like to find a way to bulk copy all the folder.jpg files in those locations where I have mp3/aac files, from my backups to my main archive. Anyone think of any way of doing this, other than copying the entire library? Not even sure that would work, as the overwrite of the folder.jpg files probably wouldn't happen. R.
