It's been quite a while since I tried it. I seem to recall desktop
hangups, i.e. pauses. It wasn't as simple as low transfer speed.

I remember searching at the time and finding it seemed to be a
well-known problem. I was in a hurry so gave up and looked elsewhere.

That was NFSv4 - it may have been better on v3, but my server is only
serving v4, so I didn't try that.

Apols for the vague memory. If I get a chance to try v4 again I'll
report back.
