Hello everyone,

Our Research IT Reading Group topic next week will focus on a two-day
Knowledge Exchange workshop in Berlin in October 2015, specifically on the
recently-published report out of that workshop, *Research Software
Sustainabilitiy: Report on Knowledge Exchange workshop
<http://repository.jisc.ac.uk/6332/1/Research_Software_Sustainability_Report_on_KE_Workshop_Feb_2016_FINAL.pdf>*
.

*When:* Thursday, March 24 from noon - 1pm
*Where:* 200C Warren Hall, 2195 Hearst St (see building access instructions
below).
*Event format:* The reading group is a brown bag lunch (bring your own).
This session will be a discussion of the report linked above and below, and
will not include a presentation.

We will discuss the findings and recommendations in this report, comparing
them to experience that Berkeley staff and researchers have had and are
having in research-oriented software projects, from the domain-specific to
broad, consortially-supported efforts.

There will *not* be a presentation at this meeting. Please review the
report (linked again below) prior to the meeting:

We'll proceed with the discussion assuming that participants have
familiarized themselves with the report.

*Warren Hall access*: *For those who do not have keycard access to the
building, please take the elevator to the second floor (stairwell door
requires keycard). Before noon, let the receptionist know you're joining
the Reading Group in 200C and s/he will let you in and show you the
way. After noon, look for a sign next to the receptionist window to the
right as you exit the elevators. We'll post a note with a phone number that
you can call or text, and someone will come out to open the locked doors.*

Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday of next week,

~Steve

P.S. *For those of you who attended last week's meeting or who noticed a
different topic in the original bCal event for this meeting, we did need to
change topics due to a late-notice scheduling conflict. We hope to invite
Robert Miller, CEO of Lyrasis <http://www.lyrasis.org>, to a reading group
meeting in the not-too-distant future.*
