At this point, there are no further releases planned for the 2.x branch, short of a major bug or security vulnerability fix becoming necessary. All development resources are currently going into 3.x. > We are "this close" to putting my current system in production use. > I just wasn't ready for 3 yet... > > Also, one last question. Will there be an "upgrade" path from 2 to > 3? Yes. There will be a published procedure for upgrading a CentOS 7-based setup to 3.x. Users currently on CentOS 6 should begin planning for a move to CentOS 7, especially as 6 goes out of support on 30 Nov 2020. We are also beginning to work up a 3.x integration for "CentOS 8", using the current RHEL 8 beta release as a stalking horse. No firm timeline on that, as RedHat as not yet announced a release date for RHEL 8, and a corresponding initial CentOS major release usually happens 3 - 6 months after that. 2020 Q1 would be my best guesstimate at present.
