We currently have two Internet radio streams both fed separately but at
the moment are carrying the same programmes. The 'Now Playing' info is
sent by each Rivendell machine on our network via 2 instances of PyPad
(1 for stream 1 which is at a high bit rate and the other at a lower bit
rate on a second PyPad entry). My question is this - is there an easy
way to switch off 1 instance of PyPad so it only transmits info to 1
stream, with another Rivendell machine sending out info to the second
stream independently. I know I can probably just alter a password or
something similar on each machine so one PyPad instance will fail, but
wondered if there's an easier and better way to do this.
Reason for asking is we're carrying separate programmes on each of the
streams, so don't want want the 'Now Playing' info for Stream 1 also
going out on Stream 2 and vice-versa.
Secondly - is there a way to stop the 'Now Playing' data from a
particular cart of carts from being sent, other than having to move it
to a new group that doesn't transmit this data. (EG we have a News group
which contains the actual audio for news which is fine to transmit,
however our News In and News out carts are in the same group (for ease
of use more than anything else). It would be useful to disable the 'Now
Playing' data for the News In and Out carts so this isn't trasnmitted.
