Hi Wade-
Thanks for your interest in Jini and River. We're in the midst of some
good progress:
* getting out the first release ("Apache River Release v2.1.1").
This is more of a 'transition' release -- starting to integrate
the
two major code contributions (Jini Technology Starter Kit and
Service UI), settling on a release name, updating things for
Apache, and running through the release gauntlet
* having a web presence -- we never updated the River web area
when we got into the incubator. Obviously, that's not a good way
to attract interest. I've been working on a new site (it's a
confluence
wiki instance -- hopefully to make it easier for a group of
committers
to add stuff). More on this later today (trying to get a
couple of
formatting things corrected first).
* getting a starter bug fix list for our second release ("AR2").
If you
look in the project JIRA, you'll see a bunch of bugs committed to
the AR2 release.
So... we've obviously been slow to date - but things are (still) moving.
Glad for your interest and look forward to your engagement.

Hello all,
I'm wondering if River is currently under development, or if it is
in limbo. I am interested in trying a couple things with JINI, and
I thought if those things pan out I might try to get into the
development side. Anyways, as this is a user perspective question
at the moment I thought I would first ask this.
Thanks,
Wade
