I had another idea: zclUnixNotify.c: Tcl_InitNotifier Modify this function, that it checks, if the Process has changed, e.g. we are in a fork. If so: - close the communication pipe (as we have copies of the file handlers) - restart the notifier thread This would preserve the capability of Rivet to: - first load - then fork which is currently the case and helped to spped-up the boot time of FlightAware around 40 Minuites...
