Just a thought but maybe you could make like a "dual boot" start up. A full
normal linux startup--call it expert or whatever and then just a cover screen
start up that plays a midi or something---call it user
The point I'm trying to make here is I want to see everything--I want to get
around the system etc but my wife, or most home users, just wants to start at
a page and can care less about the settings--commands etc.
So if there was an option at the start user or admin lets say then one cpuld
run the system in either mode---most workstation/home users could care less
about what does what/where or why so my wife could just click on user and
wait while looking at a picture and listing to a stream---and I could amass
the data I need and have a full functional system without having to "dig" for
all the system settings etc
 Anyway just my first thoughts
