I've just installed Beta 2 and noticed that only "Root" can use the internet
dialer. Users get the message "Cannot create modem lock file". If I uncheck
the option to create the file, they get "Sorry can't open the modem". This
must be a ownership or permission issue. In the mean time, could you tell
me how to fix it manually?
Also, if a user logs out, the modem does not hang up (maybe this is only
with the "root" guy?). I can see where this might be desired, so how about
presenting them with a message (i.e. "Modem still connected, would you like
to disconnect?").
And not to ramble on, but, would it be easy to have "print to file" as an option
during the printer setup? Some of us don't have nice printers, so we FTP to
our work and copy our print files to our nice printers the next morning. I
noticed it can be worked around with the K-apps so it probably isn't all that
big of an issue.
P.S. I'll probably switch over to Build 26 right away. Will it have better luck
finding my sound card? My current one is a PCI Yamaha and I've tried two
others. I can't tell you what they were cause I just quickly borrowed them
from a pile of old ISA junk boards. I'm assuming you havn't focused on sound
to much yet. If you like I'll get more info.
