Replaced our redhat 7.0 box w/RedmondLinux build 26. We use this machine
for client internet access at a local tax service. I want to get some
feedback on usability and "Look and Feel". This tax service is comparable
to H&R Block with some 3500 returns for approx 5500 clients so I hope to
get plenty of feedback.
One area of concern for me is how to keep desktop changes (from errant
users ie. Kids playing) to a minimum. Not being a long time unix user any
comments would be appreciated.
During setup I did find one driver issue of significant concern for me.
That is that there is no driver for the DEC Etherworks3 (de203, de204,
de205) series ethernet adapters (significant since I have a box of
these!).
Hope to send some pics and hwinfo soon. If anyone has tips on setting up
the samba client on konqueror I'm all ears! "KDE config" has only minimal
help for windows shares and specifically no help for how to specify the
workgroup to connect to.
