Call me paranoid, but I just get these visions of
this linux distribution that just shows up on in your mailbox unannounced, and
when you install it, everything is great, but then after the free 1000 hours,
starts dinging your credit card for $4.95 a month. And of course, Granny being
Granny doesn't have a clue, so it just keeps racking up the charges.
It
just seems like the whole ideological concepts between the two are 180 degrees
apart. It seems like trying to mix oil and water to me.

I'm
not saying that I agree with AOL's desire to buy RedHat, but there are
three things that spring to mind.
First, RedHat would get an
infusion or resources, both human and financial.
Second, the RedHat
guys would get rich (hell don't we all dream of that
sometimes?!)
Third, I thought that there was a desire in the Linux
public to create a distribution that could be used by everyone's
grandmother? Isn't that partially what Redmond Linux (sorry don't have the
announcement to hand) is trying to do?
Thanks Mike
