All,
During conversations with Sam in preparation for the last RAWUG / RLUG
/ NNCS meeting, I mentioned an idea to him about changing the name of
our proposed org. Being a relatively new Nevadan, I was under the
impression that the Reno / Tahoe area was referred to as "Western
Nevada". But at the last meeting some people said "There is Southern
Nevada (Las Vegas), and Northern Nevada (Reno), and that's it."
At the meeting it didn't seem like people had strong feelings one way
or another. There were also other suggestions as well, like the NWNCS
for North Western Nevada Computer Society.
So, I am sending the idea to the list to get your feedback on the
proposed name. - Current options are:
NNCS
WNCS
Other (Write in your own)
If you have strong feelings about any of the names, Make Your Case! - I
will compile the votes, and we can come up with a name the majority of
us are happy with.
Personally I like the way NNCS sounds, but the wncs.org domain is still
available. On the NNCS side, nncs.info is available.
