- Lurking in the background has been very good to me.........So I was pondering this mostly non-technical question this evening: What has RLUG done for you a member/lurker of the group?
I'll start,
- Meeting many people from different industries and backgrounds who are interested in technology. - Job Opportunities. - Experience with handling/herding groups of computer geeks. - Learning about things that I would normally not care too much about.
- Sometimes I can lurch out of the background and get questions answered.
- On those rare occasions in the past when the group has had a weekend event going on I got to hang with the group and absorb more info.
- Anytime I run into someone that's interested in open source and linux I have a place to point them to for their enrichment..... As often as I have done this most of the weenies I talk to would rather snivel than take the time to leave their master. I still find this odd but what the heck. It's fun to laugh at them when they complain day after day about how their box burned down. Actually, I think this method is working on one of them. Bout freakin time too... heheh
