Hey there,
I haven't tried writing to NTFS, is previously it had been
discouraged
due to compatiability issues. I have successfully written to FAT32
though, both Hard Drive and USB "jump drive." I recently downloaded
the newest version of knoppix (not tested yet) which i've read,
contains tools write to NTFS.

In trouble shooting, look at any disk partitions you may have access
to, and double check that you have write permissions. I have
experienced having to use command line to log on as root and remount
a partition to read/write/execute mode. I don't recall exactly what
command i used, but it can probably be found on the internet.
