The ideal candidate will have skills in Linux and UNIX systems administration with knowledge in shell scripting. This position will be involved with administering the County’s web and proxy servers and work with application developers and the County’s Web Master. DESIRABLE SKILLS INCLUDE: o Familiarity with open source products in regards to: Downloading, compiling, installing, configuring and administering such applications. o Knowledge and experience with web based technology for Apache Web servers, Squid proxy servers and MySQL databases. Background checks will be conducted on selected applicants through the State of Nevada and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The cost of the background check will be borne by the selected applicants(s). Positions in the Information Technology Department have access to criminal justice agency systems including NCIC and CJIS. All felony convictions, gross misdemeanor and certain misdemeanor convictions will prohibit that employee from working with NCIC and CJIS criminal justice systems. Therefore, these potential candidates are not eligible to compete for employment in the IT Department.
