[RLUG] wifi cards?

I'm thinking about playing with wifi and was wondering what cards are 
well supported with Linux before plunking out any bucks on a possible 
looser. PCI or perhaps USB. An external antenna or hookup for one would 
be a plus.... Which cards to avoid?? Comments? Etc. etc. etc......
