Hi All, I was going to ask a Gnome question but I RTFM first (Ubuntu Hacks) and managed to figure out my problem. (wanted single click in Gnome) The manual was only somewhat helpful. It got me in the right area but what it told me to do didn't agree with what I saw on the screen. This reminded me of problems I have had with trying to do stuff with Linux. I've followed instructions to the letter using information on the distro I was using and it would not work or would give me a cryptic error. (at least cryptic to a noob) This can be pretty discouraging when you're just starting out. Actually it's discouraging any time 'cause it makes you feel like you don't have a clue. I can imagine what someone more clueless than I (there are probably a few) feels when they are told to RTFM, they do, and it doesn't work. :-( (BTW, I'm not talking about you guys/gals as I haven't seen this on RLUG that I can remember)
Part of what brought this mini-rant on is the fact that I had figured this out (single click thing) several versions back and now they have moved settings around and buried my setting where I couldn't find it. This isn't only a Gnome problem, KDE, Windows, and probably a lot of others do this also. It would be cool if when they did this they would include a readme telling you where to go ;-) It's kinda frustrating when you're not too sure what you're doing in the first place. CLIP...... Anyway, the list *has* been quite quiet lately. I've been pretty busy the las three weeks and I've also been trying to get a Linux distro to record music.
