Hello Rockbox-Devs,

I vote for option #4 with some extra 'eye candy'...

UP/DOWN selects items in dir
LEFT exists dir no change
RIGHT enters dir or applies and exits
NAVI (a.k.a. select) makes change but does not exit dir

An indicator of the current setting (like the checkmark) in addition to the
inverted line based on where your current selection is would be benefitial.
The checkmark should 'jump' to the inverted line and pause for a tiny amount
of time when NAVI (or RIGHT) is pressed. This would be very clear to the
newbies IMO.

Also this way (at least on an iRiver H1x0) one could do everything with just
the thumb.

Subject: how should the settings screen work?

ok, time to solve this once and for all...

we have 3 (possibly 4) options on what each key should do in the
setings screen, and I would really like to get a final answer on how
it should work.

1) like it was before actions. left and right both accept the setting
and exit, off cancels and on accepts
2) like it is now, off and left both cancel and exit, right and on
accept and exit

the next 2 options require lowlights patch which adds a little tick
icon next to the currently selected option, but i cant find the link
and i dont tihnk its on FS :( (you can see a screenshot of what it
looks like @ http://users.monash.edu.au/~jdgor1/screeny.bmp )

3) on - move the tick (i.e change the selection) and say in the
screen, left/off exit the screen using whatever is the ticked option
for the setting.

4) LEFT cancels, RIGHT applies and backs out, SELECT applies and stays
in the menu without any splashes at all?

So, which option do we go for?
OR, do we add an option to allow all 4 (or 3 or 2) of them and just
argue about which shuold be default?
