Explicit ordering options wouldn't be inconsistent. But again, why include a temporary hack that you know you're going to remove? How is removing it later better than removing it now? If people need warning, give them warning and then change over, but having an interim period of both doesn't change the fact that many people won't update their skins until they have to.
