This is my first post to the mailing list. I have been keeping track of recent posts and trying to search the archives. As of yet, I have not found anything related to my problem. So, I have decided to write to this board in hopes of a response.
Here's the problem I'm having: When I do copyover, I get the message "Copyover by Athanos -please remain seated" -- so far so good, but that's as far as it gets. The mud freezes at that point and goes into sleep mode. I have (sys/types.h) included in my file and I have my copyover file and exe file defined as well. The log shows that there was a copyover and that the mud is ready to rock, but it's not. At first I thought I had a problem with the writing of the copyover file, but it writes to the file just fine. With gdb, I get SIGTRAP error. I'm not sure what this means or how to fix it. That's all the information it gives me. It appears that there is a problem in the execl function or something. If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. I have matched the code up perfectly with other codes that have worked and it still won't. That's why I believe it's not in the copyover function itself. I am running an AEternity codebase (Advanced GhostMud) (originally made to run under cygwin, which might be the problem as well). Thank you in advance for your responses. Athanos Co-Implementer and Head Coder of Shadows of the Mist __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
