Dude, your asking more than you know. This isn't just a simple C question... or even a C question, this is totally ROM. You gotta learn how the game works with the game_loop_* and such, as well as all the update features. Buut, the best way to learn this is prolly through a snippet. Look at kyndig.com/codes (When its up and running, seems to be down atm) for Kyndigs own Event snippet. It'll lead you in the right direction. Learn all the stuff to do with that, and you'll probably be able to advance that snippet farther (Being able to break queue mid stream and have the commands not affect). I'm not all to sure if this helps, but take a look that will help you more than I will ;)

Subject: Rather a C question not just ROM

Greetings ROMmers!

I have a very odd question, and I can't seem to quite
track down an easy answer to this. Instead of
utilizing WAIT_STATE to for an action halted. I'm
wondering about a good way to stagger things like, say
I'm sending things to a character in creation, and I
want it to wait 5 seconds between forking out lines,
how would be a good way to do that?

Thank you in advance,

Morrigon the messmaker
