Thanks for the responses. As far as Sandi's post. I'm awful glad you mentioned balance. Balance is the driving force behind this idea, however I don't know that the result will be more balanced.
It all goes back to how being careless with stat bonuses on eq can really have a negative impact on total game balance. I have raised the idea to remove stat bonuses from ALL equipment, run the game for a test period, and then slowly add stats back in based upon player feedback and far stricter building rules. Currently, we have players who NEVER train their stats because eq will max them out even at early levels. They then save all of those extra trains and use them to train up their hit/mana/mv's to unacceptable levels. Eliminating the bonuses on eq would force a player to actually train his stats if he wants a decent char, which means that I could kill at least 2 birds with one fix. :P Thanks for the posts on this subject...and I'm always open to more discussion on the matter.
