 PAM support exists, but it is dependent on an autologin type scheme. This 
has never been particularly seamless for citadel. E.g., a sysadmin can't 
just come along and create an email account for a Citadel user. (As far as 
I know, the user has to do it himself via port 504 before he can use 
IMAP.)
