I am new to the 'Java world', UP and Rose, so please let me know if the questions are not clear. I am just starting to use Rational Rose Enterprise Edition 2001a to develop a web application with the J2EE architecture and MVC design pattern. I am a little confused on what model to select when opening Rose. My boss wants to use the RUP framework, but it seems that I should use the J2EE. I tried to find documentation, but couldn't find anything detailing why/when to use each model. Can someone explain the difference between the two Rose models or direct me to some docuemention? Do I use them both at different stages of the UP? Where is the best place to put the software architecture?
