Dave,
We had a similar problem. It turned out that there was a bug in 2001A such
that whenever you clicked on the birds-eye-view icon, Rose would resize the
text boxes around your classes (the box that contains the class name) and
make them wide - something on the order of the width of the original
diagram. Each time you clicked the icon, the text boxes got bigger. After
several clicks, the actual meaningful parts of the diagram would appear as
something very small in the upper left hand corner of a very large blank
pallet. Support gave us a patch that fixed the underlying problem. To see if
this is what is really going on, view your diagram with shrink to fit then
select all on the diagram. You will see the actual geometry of the text
boxes drawn with dashed lines. If they are too big, and this will be easy to
spot, you will have to resize manually (we actually wrote a quick rose
script because there were too many) to get the thing back to reality. The
patch doesn't fix anything already there it just prevents them from growing
when you hit the icon.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
John

Les,
I had a similar problem with one diagram (a rogue element). Try
pressing Ctrl-A to select all while viewing the diagram, and the hidden
element might be exposed by its selection corners. Worked for me...
