Yeah, I know the technical aspect of this is reasonably straightforward
but what I just plain don't like is the configurability aspect of it all.
I don't want colours per entity - to me it just smacks of fiddling about
with window manager colours ad infinitum as a youth. I also don't want a
load of colour import code either. As an aside I baulk at the amount of
partial document import we do already actually as I don't think this is
importantant and not at all intuitive from a user perspective - I got
steamrollered on that though.

The original remit for this feature has been fulfilled and it works great.
Let's leave it at that for the moment please. The rest of us are working
to a tight release plan and we too have very limited time so this colour
stuff currently counts as a dependency - that's why I brought this up.
To me your reasons aren't good enough for wanting to change it from what
it is and I also don't like the design implications of what you're suggesting
from a user perspective. I sympathise with it interfering with your hopes for
the feature at this stage but this is a democracy in that we discuss most stuff
before implementing it (or most usually afterwards) and also an autocracy in
terms of what actually goes in. So I would suggest you leave your changes for
a post 1.0 discussion and I would also suggest that if you want to help out now
that your skills are better used on bugs and remaining partial features as detailed
in the rosegarden/docs/task_lists/1.0_release.txt.
