I don't really have any idea how to answer that, but I'm glad you brought it 
up.  What you're suggesting could work, if you can figure out how to get it 
to happen.  Alternatively, I've had the idea rattling around in my head for a 
bit now that we should have a File -> Open Demo � la Hydrogen.  All it does 
is a file open in the installed examples directory the same as a regular file 
open.

Although, curiously, I just had a look at his code and:

I'm only faking Italian here, but I think he wants to get rid of his demo 
method and probably wind up doing something similar to what you had in mind 
before I started babbling.  :)

Either way, it's an excellent idea.  As things stand now, nobody will ever 
find /usr/share/hidden/stuff/in/layers/of/junk/rosegarden
