I have a suspicion that nobody else has actually worked out what causes this 
problem yet.  Certainly I haven't a clue myself (and it hasn't bitten me).  
Anything you discover is likely to be of great interest.

Note that we're likely to make another release at some point in the next few 
days or so -- I think we only really have the current canvas-scrolling issue 
to clear up and then it'd probably be a good time to turn the CVS version 
into the next release.
