You should also consider subscribing to the rosegarden-bugs list, where you 
see a running log of everyone's commit messages, and any new activity on the 
bug or feature trackers.  Usually when I run into the 
didn't-update-and-couldn't-commit scenario is when the messages on the bugs 
list have gotten stuck in cyberspace again.  (Like my previous message in 
this thread, which hasn't shown up on the list yet, even though I sent it a 
good bit ago.)
