Thanks, that sounded promising. But when I install it, run it, and select Look & Feel -> Appearance, the only pages I'm offered are for Icons and Emoticons, not general visual style. Vlada also suggested $ kcmshell4 style This responds with findServiceByDesktopPath: style.desktop not found which is suggestive of the same cause -- presumably, some kde4 module or package missing. But what is it, and where (under Ubuntu 8.10) do I get it from? Any ideas, anyone? My only aim here is to get programs like Konqueror coming up with a theme that vaguely resembles the one I have set for pure Qt4 applications.
