But perhaps the traffic volume is really low, the speed limit is only 55 mph, the shoulder is quite wide and the alternative is really bad. With the slightest bit of traffic, I'd consider getting off at each off ramp (motorway_link) even when I want to go straight. Straight across the intersection and then use the on ramp to get back on.
