Hello RPCEmu users,

Our first objective is to get acquainted with the source code and get
the emulator issues/problems/bugs identified. At the moment we are only
going to develop the Linux version of RPCEmu because we don't have
time/tools to test the code on other platforms and because their are
other good solutions of emulating a Risc PC on a Windows or MAC PC.
I understand you only have the resources for the linux version, but
can you try to make it possible for it to continue to be built on
Windows. Once/if RISC OS 5 is available for RPCEmu, I'm sure there
will be others apart from me who will want to be able to run it on
their Windows machines.
Just like to add, on top of this, I'm happy to try to keep it
building/working on PPC Mac OS X/Linux. I can get the src from svn to
build and run on big-endian ppc mac os x/linux, however there are still a
few endian issues - for instance, it's obvious the vidc20 emulation isn't
entirely endian-safe and HostFS fires off asserts().
I want to get these issues fixed up before I start submitting patches to
get RPCEmu into a packagable state. PPC Linux is my primary development
platform, for personal work, whereas PPC Mac OS X is there to look pretty
and run iTunes ;)
I'm with Alan that we cannot let the Windows build fall behind and should
be aiming for as unified an engine as possible.
All the best,
